LA CLOSERIE DE CAMENSAC: The property benefits from a micro-climate, with mild winters and hot but oceanic summers favorable to the good development of the vines. This climate is associated with a terroir of deep gravel brought by the river (Villafranchian gravel common to the soil of Pessac-Léognan and Gunzian gravel which covers the St Julien appellation).
HAUT MEDOC DE GISCOURS: The parcels of Haut Médoc de Giscours wine are planted half Cabernet Sauvignon, half Merlot. The vineyard of this Haut-Médoc de Giscours is made up of 45 hectares of vines aged 20 years on average. The soil is composed of gravel and clayey-sandy alluvium.
LA GRIFFE DE BARREYRES: The vineyard of Château Barreyres, in one piece, covers 101 hectares and enjoys an ideal location. The Château is one of the few rare estates that dominate the Gironde estuary. This very privileged location seems to be the prerogative of the greats of the Médoc since the legend says that to produce great wines, the vines of the peninsula must be able to see the river...

Tasting notes:
CLOSERIE DE CAMENSAC, AOP Haut Medoc, second wine of Château de Camensac, classified Fifth Growth in the Haut Médoc. A second wine close to a great wine, with good structure, length and excellent balance.
LE HAUT MEDOC DE GISCOURS, AOP Haut Medoc, comes from the family's historical plots. Third wine of the family, vinified by the Giscours team since 1992 with the same rigor as for the production of the great wine of Margaux. On the nose, a rich bouquet of black fruits. This gourmet aspect is enhanced by a spicy touch. The mouth is ample, dense and supported by velvet tannins, which give it character and carry the wine in length.
GRIFFE DE BARREYRES, AOP Haut Medoc, second wine of Château Barreyres, Cru Bourgeois du Haut Medoc. Griffe de Barreyres presents an intense carmine color, and an expressive nose, of a pleasant fruity complexity, with some notes of cocoa. The mouth, balanced and greedy, is based on tight tannins.
